Also, women who experience gestational diabetes have a higher risk of acquiring type 2 diabetes as they age. Obesity and pregnancy can present certain risks to both you and your baby. By following your doctor's advice, you can prevent or reduce the risk of these complications.

As you mature, it is important to follow healthy weight loss plans to maintain energy and supply your body with essential nutrients. Nutrients such as calcium, carbohydrates and protein help maintain healthy bodies. Calcium helps prevent osteoporosis or thinning of the bones which can lead to fractures as we age.
