Smooth Fitness 6.75 Folding Treadmill Review – What Does This Treadmill Offer?

Smooth Fitness makes some decent treadmills (and elliptical trainers). They don’t sell dozens of models. Instead they restrict their offerings to several quality treadmills.

The Smooth 6.75 Treadmill is priced under $1,500 (at the time this article was published). Frankly, I wouldn’t buy a treadmill for under $1,000, but then I weigh over 200 pounds and am over 6 feet tall so I need a little extra size and power.

The Smooth 6.75 Treadmill Delivers on Size

I like the fact that this treadmill has a running surface area of 20 inches wide by 60 inches long. Most treadmills have a 20 inch wide deck, but the range in length can vary from 50 to 65 inches. 60 is a good length especially if you’re taller.

Do You Like Sprinting?

The Smooth Fitness 6.75 treadmill has a top speed of 12 miles per hour which is pretty good. This is fast enough to do high intensity interval training (HIIT) which is becoming a very popular cardio workout these days.

Of course, you don’t have to operate this treadmill at 12 miles per hour. It nicely accommodates walkers as well.

Which brings me to the next key feature: How much of an incline do you get?

There are 15 incline levels which enables you to run or walk on a flat surface or simulate a rigorous uphill hike. Note, if you’re looking for a treadmill that offers some serious incline like 20 percent or higher, you should be looking at an incline trainer. An incline trainer is a specialized treadmill built for steep incline.

You Get the Power You Need

The Smooth Fitness 6.75 treadmill is outfitted with a 3.0 horsepower continuous duty motor. This is more than enough for performance runners. You won’t lack for power. Actually, given the price range on this treadmill, 3.0 horsepower is a good deal. Many treadmills priced higher have horsepower in the 2.0 to 2.75 range. I consider the 3.0 hp offering a real plus.

Get This Treadmill Out Of The Way When You’re Not Using It

As the name of this treadmill suggests, it folds. Moreover, it has wheels built into it so it’s very easy to roll out of the way. Frankly, I’m surprised not all treadmills have wheels. If it folds but you can’t move it easily, the folding feature isn’t much help. Fortunately Smooth Fitness has the foresight to include both a folding mechanism and transportation wheels.
